Both Emma and Alice have jumped on board the Capsule journey in its early stages. Let’s get to know a bit about them!
Emma;
‘I am so excited to be a part of the Capsule journey. I love the ethos and culture that Liam and Tom and the team are curating with their fresh approach to insurance. I am looking forward to bringing my experience of key account management and business development - and just being a part of a growing team with a very exciting future!
I lived in a few different places growing up as my father was in the Forces, so am used to change and adapting to new situations and environments. I am however, glad to root down now!
I left University with a degree in Fine Art but took a different direction after graduating, spending a couple of winters in France and meeting my fiancé.
I have been fortunate in my career to date to have travelled to some incredible destinations for sporting events, including South Africa, Japan and New Zealand. I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. A fond memory of mine has to be doing karaoke in a tiny izakaya (bar) in Japan with Wayne Pivac and Ryan Jones before the Australia v Wales match and being rather tiddly and out of tune! ‘
Alice;
‘I’m especially excited to join the Capsule team because despite their years of experience, they have the same energy as the startups they’re representing. It’s great to be part of a team that cares so deeply about sustainability, and that is rewarding others for doing the same!
I have been working in the startup world for a while – though I trained to be a corporate lawyer, I was keen to work with more purpose-led businesses and have a real impact. Initially drawn to AI and the environment, I spent some time working with an energy startup, representing the company at events like COP26 and getting to grips with energy infrastructure. I was inspired by all the founders and startup teams I met along the way and decided to pursue my interest in community-building at Capsule, where I’ll be focusing on connecting like-minded entrepreneurs that have sustainability at the core of their businesses.
Similarly to Emma, I’ve been lucky to have a nomadic upbringing and love making new friends all over the world through knitting (and the odd pub quiz or two…!). One of my favourite things is teaching people how to knit and seeing their first projects – so once we’ve helped you with insurance, feel free to drop me a note to troubleshoot your latest knit!’
Emma and Alice have a few things in common…they both returned to the Gloucestershire area; Alice having gone to school in Cheltenham and Emma having gone to school in Gloucester when they were younger. Both have a love of rugby; Alice having played it at University and Emma working on international rugby events. Also, they’re creative! Alice with her knitting needles and Emma with her sketchbook. Both like a pub and a pint but that’s not so much common ground!
Welcome on board Capsuleites, we are pleased you’re with us!
